REMOVING THE LENS

          PINCHING THE LENS OFF THE  INFERIOR  SCLERA

Control the patient's lids in the 
same way as when placing the 
lens on the cornea.

Instruct the patient to look up.

Using your index finger gently slide 
the lens off the cornea onto the 
sclera

Remove the lens by gently 
"pinching" it between the thumb 
and index finger of your dominate 
hand.

Try to leave a slight space between your thumb and index finger as you pinch it out so that the lens folds instead of creases or tears.
